Authentic Poon Choi To Go At Hyatt Regency, Sha Tin
The Winter Solstice is a significant festive day among Chinese; people will gather for a hearty dinner to celebrate the arrival of winter. Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin is proud to present authentic Poon Choi To Go, which offers the traditional flavour of this local Hong Kong delicacy, as well as signature dishes from the award-winning Sha Tin 18. Add-on desserts and selected wines are also available at special prices, allowing guests to enjoy an extraordinary dining experience at home that is tailor-made for either four or six persons.
Growing up in Yuen Long, Cheung Hong Man, the Executive Chef of Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin, is familiar with the authentic flavours of poon choi. His latest creation, which is not to be missed, is his braised Hakka-style pork belly, which is considered the soul of poon choi; braised pig skin with preserved soya bean paste is rich in collagen, and its flavourful and chewy texture leaves a lasting impression. Filled with layers of fine ingredients such as whole abalone and nourishing fish, poon choi also features delectable classic ingredients, including poached chicken, roasted duck, braised dried squid and simmered fish balls, as well as bean curd puffs. Served in a takeout clay-pot, this authentic poon choi feast can be enjoyed comfortably at home.

▲ There are three layers to the poon choi. In the middle is Hakka-style fermented bean curd pork belly, which is considered the soul of poon choi.
