Fashion artisan, Hiro Yoshikawa has shed some light on what makes his Japanese jeans so unique

His inspiration of washi jeans comes from ‘shoji’, the sliding door. One day, Hiro was wondering why his traditional Japanese house is so comfy, warm in winter and cool in summer. The key is the washi, the Japanese paper, which is a part of the UNESCO intangible world heritage. Washi is often used in the wooden frames of shoji and its texture diffuses the light to the room with a bright vibe, providing a natural ventilation and refined atmosphere. Hiro desires to celebrate this traditional Japanese art and bring the comfortable texture to his jeans, creating a fashion that fits for four seasons.
